There are certain foods and vegetables which are good for overall health and also helpful in lowering cholesterol levels. Some of them are:
Legumes
Legumes are good for overall health such as lentils, beans and peas contain minerals, lots of fibers and protein which is very helpful in lowering LDL cholesterol levels.
Fiber and monounsaturated fatty acids which are found in avocados are best for a heart and to maintain cholesterol levels.
Studies found that who ate avocados on a daily basis lowered their LDL levels effectively in comparison to those who didn’t eat them.
They contain monounsaturated fatty acids, omega 3 fatty acids, magnesium and potassium which is good for your heart as well as to maintain lower cholesterol levels.
Almonds and walnuts are recommended for maximum health benefits.
Whole grains are good for a healthy heart.Beta-glucan is the main compound found in Oats and barley which is very effective at lowering LDL cholesterol.
Vegetables, Fruits, and berries contain a good amount of fiber and antioxidants which are helpful in lowering cholesterol and also good for your heart health.They have soluble fiber called pectin especially in apples, grapes, strawberries and citrus fruits which can lower your cholesterol level by up to 10% , which also have anti-inflammatory properties.
Dark chocolate has less sugar and about 75% to 85% or can be a higher amount of cocoa which is proved to be effective in lowering cholesterol level in your body. One study found that those who had a cocoa beverage for a month twice daily saw their results of lowering LDL cholesterol.
Allicin is the main compound found in the garlic which is very effective for maintaining cholesterol level and most importantly reduce other heart disease risk factors also.
